A career sailmaker and one of the founding partners of the Quantum Sail Design Group, Norman’s expertise lies in the technical elements of sailing. Norman actively races on the international sailing circuit as a pro trimmer/tactician/rig set up expert. He also is an expert in rig layout and set up for offshore cruising boats. Whether racing your boat locally on the Bay, campaigning on the international Grand Prix circuit or embarking on an ocean crossing or world cruise, Norman has the experience and advice that will make your plans a success. For part of 2016 and the first half of 2017 Norman was project manager as the lead in all aspects of the design and construction of the Pac 52 Invisible Hand which has in 2017 scored overall wins in both the 2017 SoCal 300 and the 2017 Transpac Race to Hawaii. For the second half of the Pac 52 Season Norman sailed on BadPak as the strategist helping them win the inaugural season Championship.

Norman was one of the original architects of the emerging Pac 52 class on the west coast of the US. For the 34 th Americas Cup Norman worked for the Race Management as team liaison for the World Series events to the teams and then once the Cup came to San Francisco he worked for BAR racing. Norman’s racing experience includes: Big Boat Series (including 16 overall wins) Including the IRC National Championships on the Bay. Norman also has sailed and won countless local, regional, national, and international events including several national championship wins in various classes. Block Island Race Week, Bermuda Race, SORC, Key West Race Week, TransPac, Pacific Cup, Kenwood Cup, you name it, he has been there and done it at a high level. Norman’s latest project has been matching buyers and sellers with catamarans that go into charter in the Caribbean working with several of the large charter operations.
