1960 Hinckley Bermuda 40

Alameda, California

$69,900

NELLIE is Hull no. 2 of the iconic Hinckley Bermuda 40 line - boasting the longest running production span of any fiberglass boat. As beautiful as she is seaworthy, her design brief called for racer/cruiser capabilities with shoal draft keel  and form stability making her ideal for inshore port in/port out and offshore where she became a favorite design for Newport/Bermuda and Marblehead/Halifax racers.

Outfitted below in the classic B-40 configuration of v-berth forward and tiered bunking in the salon, her mahogany interior with teak & holly floors gleams.  She comes with an updated galley including Force 10 stove, refrigeration and freezer, plus heater and nav. center.

Her tall rig and aluminum boom were redesigned by famed naval architect Bill Lapworth from Cal Boat fame, and she has spent her entire life on the West Coast. Her topsides were redone in 2018 along with extensive bright work and gearing restoration with new bottom paint in 2022. She's been well maintained with her prior owner having the boat under professional yacht management.

She is available on a 3 year lease-to-own with flexible terms.

Hull#2 features the standard 6 berth B-40 layout. To port and starboard are double pilot berths accented with a batten ceiling accompanied with convertible settees beneath. Entertaining is made simple with a drop leaf table. The entire space can be heated by the classic 8-40 SS heater with independent fuel tank.

The 8-40 Galley is conveniently located beneath the companionway. The L-shape space is nicely appointed with a SS double sink and Force10 stove which has been converted to Natural Gas. Refrigerator can be found opposite the stove and cleverly doubles as a navigation station.

Walking forward of the salon you find a spacious head with shower to port. The V-berth owner's cabin, features his and hers mahogany hanging lockers. The entire cabin is brought to life with vanished teak and holly floorboards under your feet.
