1985 Passport 40
The Passport 40 is a top quality bluewater cruiser - nimble and seakindly. Built in Taiwan and designed by Robert Perry, the Passport 40 is one of the most popular Perry designs with nearly 150 built.
Wanderbird is an aft cockpit/Pullman berth configuration - perfect for extensive cruising, blue water passage making and liveaboard. Her coach roof extends well forward allowing additional interior volume forward. The side decks are easy to maneuver on and her cockpit is safe and very comfortable. Her cruising fin keel with a skeg hung rudder assures good tracking and excellent windward ability.
The exquisite interior joinery work done with solid teak staving sets this boat apart. Equal parts rugged voyager and elegant yacht, the Passport 40 reflects a focus on living comfort without any compromise of sailing ability or safety underway.
Wanderbird's Pullman berth layout features a double berth and head forward, an outward facing navigation station, aft cabin double berth to starboard, and a large U-shaped galley to port. Storage space abounds including accommodation below the cockpit for large items, i.e. a generator. There is cabinetized storage space in the main cabin for a full size washer/dryer with ducting, plumbing and electrical already run.
The engine was extensively re-conditioned in 2018 along with new starter, engine mounts, and rebuilt alternator and fuel pump. Wiring to engine, alternator, starter, battery switch, and regulator replaced along with the battery banks and chargers in 2018.

The forward owner's stateroom head has a shower with a teak floor grate and lots of storage cabinets with recently replaced faucets. Moving aft is a large salon perfect for entertaining, with an L-shaped settee providing wrap around seating on the port side and a folding teak table. The starboard side has a straight settee with a forward facing navigation station. The galley is along the port side across from the private aft stateroom on the starboard side, and features custom stain glass cabinets.
The mid-ships engine compartment is located under the fold out table and has teak louvred compartment openings that blend perfectly with the other fine joinery, yet provide a near 360 degree engine access for servicing.
