Hull and Deck Construction

This vessel’s hull is sandwich construction, with alternating layers of fiberglass with reported Kevlar reinforcement in places, and closed cell foam cores. For internal reinforcements, the vessel relies upon fiberglass over foam ring frames, transverse frames and longitudinal stringers. There are two watertight bulkheads forward. There are stainless steel keel bolts with robust backing plates.

The deck layout consists of a self-bailing cockpit, flush aft, side, and fore decks, and a blister cabin, with its roof extending over the forward end of the cockpit. The decks are constructed of alternating layers of fiberglass, with closed cell foam cores in places for reinforcements. The cockpit has a teak plank overlay, which is bonded to the substrate.
