This beautiful J/124 features many factory upgrades and has been very well outfitted and customized for ocean racing including custom detachable carbon bow sprit, a ready to race OYRA kit and a PacCup upgrade kit (available via negotiation). She’s been very well maintained, featuring new cordage, sails, fresh bottom job, and regularly serviced engine, and boasts an impressive electronics and navigation package.

Albion, has had two owners, and has spent the majority of her time in the fresh water at Lake Tahoe. When ordered from the factory, the original owner took extra care to ensure that she was equipped with amenities for ease and, excellence in sailing. As well as comfortable, and useable accommodations for family and friends. Her current owner has made extensive upgrades for long haul ocean racing.

From its large carbon wheel to the fine teak joinery work and Ultra suede upholstery below, or simply by the smooth, graceful way it slides through the water, the J/124 is every bit a sailing yacht… in the best sense of the word. One that is a joy to sail in all conditions with minimal crew and with rare need to employ the auxiliary diesel engine.

Yet, J/124’s focus on short-handed sailing qualities doesn’t preclude many days of offshore coastal sailing. Her narrow beam and low center-of-gravity are hallmarks of seaworthiness.

J/124 is a true escape…away from all the trappings and chores of home. Little-used amenities and complex cruising systems are discouraged where possible. But, all the important stuff is there:

An adequate galley and chart table; the accessible top-loading refrigeration (upgrade); 6 feet of headroom; three separate sleeping areas; a dodger for all-weather protection; and a cockpit made secure with 14” high backrests and seats that are long enough to sleep on.

Original factory upgrades include:

  • COMFORT GROUP: 4 cockpit seat cushions, sail cover with logo, 4 life line pads and wheel cover
  • MARINA GROUP: 120 VAC 30amp shore power service with battery charger, 50' cord, AC panel and 3 GFI protected outlets
  • Two-tone deck, Smoke White
  • 1/2" Cove Stripe, Captain Navy
  • DC Refrigeration: 12V Seafrost refrigeration system with additional 105amp AGM Battery
  • Hot Water System w/hot and cold cockpit shower mounted on swim platform
  • Interior Upholstery Porcelain Blue Ultrasuede: Main Cabin, Quarter Berth and V-Berth
  • Fixed Dinning Table Main Salon
  • Electric cabin top winch
  • Removable Bow Roller
  • Custom Detachable Carbon Bow Sprit
  • Custom Tempurpedic Foam Mattress in the V-Berth
